What is S.T.A.R.S.?
It stands for Security Tactical Action Rapid Solution, and is a special type of Stormtroopers used for internal security by the NIF aboard ships and bases. Whenever there is a crime committed, STARS will be there in minutes. They use a lot more nonlethal weapons than ordinary Stormtroopers (such as riot shields, stun staves, stun grenades, flashbangs spray sticks and so on), but they are efficient, elite, and prepared to use whatever force necessary to carry out their tasks. They wear black, reflec-covered armour that makes them stand out from other troopers. This armour is also sensor resistant, and can take a lot more damage than the typical stormtrooper armour. Handweapons cause little to no damage, only heavy weapons can take out a S.T.A.R.S. trooper with any degree of certainty.
Who can join?
Any Stormtrooper that are not serving a criminal sentence. STARS troopers are held to a higher standard and are punished more severely if found to commit crimes. On the plus side, the comeradeship and esprit de corps is invariably high. Simply post in this thread to get membership, but you're off the list if you mess up. A STARS trooper has to be committed and seroius in his job.
What difference does it make?
Not much, except that you will effecitvely become a military police. You get a day's extra pay those days you are called out on hazardous duty, but that's it. But aside from material rewards, you get to be all-extra-cool and badass.. and that's not so bad when you think about it.
So, eh, how do I do this thing?
Whenever security is called, or a situation arises that needs internal security. Then you show up, take'em down, and hand them over to Detention. Aside from that, maybe you can impress the ladies/guys with how badass you look in black armor. So what it really is, is a form of roleplaying.
